About us

The Joseph Gabriel Foundation (JGF) was established to advocate for youth who are at risk or in crisis through trauma-informed education, restorative outreach, advocacy, and mentoring. Through prevention and intervention, we serve as advocates, educators, and mental health practitioners, dedicated to empowering youth and families toward healing, growth, and lasting change. JGF is a bridge and lifeline for those in need of support, helping them overcome challenges, access vital resources, and build pathways toward brighter, safer futures.

"Summer Literacy Matters" "The Black Bag Blueprint" Community Initiative

The Joseph Gabriel Foundation is proud to launch our 2026 Summer Literacy Matters: "Black Bag Blueprint" community initiative.

We believe that every child deserves a pathway to a bright future built on education, creativity, and opportunity. The "Books Not Bars" outreach program is designed to provide youth with free access to high-quality books by authors of color and engaging literacy events that build strong community bonds and inspire a lifelong love for learning.

By investing in our youth and opening doors to new worlds through reading, this vital program empowers young people to choose knowledge over violence.

Our Programs

Youth Leadership & Mentoring

The Youth Leadership & Mentoring Program helps young people build confidence, character, and leadership skills. Through mentorship and positive community involvement, youth are inspired to become change-makers in their schools and neighborhoods.

Victim Advocacy & Crisis Outreach

The Victim Advocacy & Youth Crisis Outreach Program supports youth and families affected by violence and trauma. We provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and healing resources to promote safety, recovery, and resilience.

Literacy Initiative

The "Books Not Bars" Program provides free access to books and literacy events that build community and inspire a love for learning. The program helps youth choose knowledge over violence.
